Lauren B. Peña is a devoted mother, survivor, and constitutional conservative who embodies the American spirit of resilience and redemption. Born into hardship and raised in Texas from the age of ten, Lauren’s journey from public housing to the national political stage represents a living testimony to the power of faith, freedom, and perseverance.
Lauren’s story begins in the heart of Texas, where she faced and overcame extraordinary adversity. As a survivor of human trafficking for ten years, she emerged with a powerful sense of mission—to expose corruption, fight for justice, and give a voice to those who have been silenced. Her experiences have instilled in her an unshakable understanding of crime, poverty, and the human condition, fueling her determination to reform the systems that failed so many others.
Despite overwhelming obstacles, Lauren pursued higher education with unwavering commitment. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern New Hampshire University in 2024 and holds a Paralegal Certification from the University of Texas (2023). She has also completed coursework in Business Administration at Austin Community College (2023).
Lauren is a graduate of the Leadership Institute’s Campaign Leadership College (2023) in Washington, D.C., and a participant in the Patriot Academy’s Mock Legislative Session (2024). She also completed the Austin Police Department’s 102nd Community Police Academy (2023), demonstrating her commitment to bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community.
Lauren has dedicated her career to advocacy, law, and public policy. In 2023, she founded Peña Legal Advocacy, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal and advocacy assistance to empower individuals and families to understand their rights and represent themselves in court. Her mission—rooted in liberty, justice, and integrity—is to equip Texans from all walks of life with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the legal system and defend their rights.
Lauren’s advocacy extends beyond politics. Through Peña Legal Advocacy, she has empowered many Texans with knowledge of their rights under the Constitution and the law. Her grassroots organizing and legislative monitoring have influenced statewide conversations on homelessness, fair housing, and disability rights, and her work continues to inspire Texans to stand up for liberty, accountability, and equal justice.
In these capacities, she has drafted and testified on legislation related to human trafficking, gun rights, redistricting, women’s privacy, taxpayer-funded lobbying, bail reform, medical freedom, and government accountability. Her firsthand experience with broken systems uniquely positions her to lead reform from both moral and practical standpoints.
Lauren is a woman of faith, guided by her belief in Jesus Christ and the enduring principles of liberty. She and her partner, Oscar J. Peña III, are raising a blended family of six children in Austin, Texas. Her role as a mother of four and stepmother of two fuels her fight for family-centered policies, moral leadership, and community renewal.
“God didn’t save me so I could stay silent, but to serve!”
As a candidate for U.S. Congress in Texas’ 37th Congressional District, Lauren B. Peña is building a movement grounded in Faith, Family, and Freedom. Her platform champions working-class Americans, veterans, parents, and patriots who believe in restoring the integrity of government, cutting wasteful spending, securing the border, and strengthening the American family.
Her slogan, “Street to the Hill,” captures her life’s mission: to bring truth, transparency, and the voice of everyday Texans to Washington, D.C.
